TCP Concentrator Output

Jun 2, 2011 at 9:09 PM

Hello,

Is it possible on version 1.4 SP1 to create a TCP Concentrator Output, instead of a UDP data stream? If so, what are the correct channel strings?

I currently have a UDP stream from openPDC to a ePDC, which I would like to change to use TCP. ePDC supports both UDP and TCP streams.

I've searched the documentation but haven't found anything that says you can't make a TCP output, but also nothing that says you can.

Thanks in advance!

Certainly,  only define the TCP channel and the data will be transferred on this channel. So you would just remove the settings from the UDP channel.

The connection string will look like "Port=8900".  From the ePDC you would then setup a client connection to the openPDC on TCP port 8900.

FYI, you can click the "green plus..." button next to any of the connection strings in the openPDC manager to pull up a simple to use dialog to build connection strings.

Thanks!

Worked exactly as described. Thanks for the quick response Ritchie!
