No data transfer!!

Mar 18, 2015 at 8:38 PM
Hello everyone,

I am trying to collect data from a PMU(Arbiter 1133A) through the TCP port on my PC, but once the connection is established there is no data transfer.
Please have a look at the configuration and give me your feedback please. I have been trying a lot but no output.

Configuration I applied fro my input device

Acronym PMUIN
Name PMUIN
ID Code 2
Protocol IEEE C37.118-2005
Connection string - port=17000; maxSendQueueSize=-1; islistener=false; transportprotocol=tcp; interface=0.0.0.0; localport=8800; server=192.168.1.199 (IP of PMU device)
Alternate Commnad Cahnnel - port=8900; maxSendQueueSize=-1; server=192.168.1.198; islistener=false; transportprotocol=tcp; interface=0.0.0.0--- 192.168.1.198 is my PC IP address
Frame per second 30
Historian PPA
Device Vendor Arbiter 1133A

Other parameters are default

Configuration on the Concentrator output stream is...

Acronym - PUMACTION
NAME - PMUA
ID - Code 3
Tyepe - IEEE C37.118-2005
TCP Channel port=8900
UDP channle Port=-1;Clients=localhost:8800

And I created a virtual Device under the output stream PMUACTION

Acronym - PMUDEV
Name - PMUDEV
BPA - PMUD
ID COde - 3

Output on the openPDC consol is....

Hello Keflemarium,

It appears that you have set up your device with a data channel and a command channel. The data channel is set up to connect to 192.168.1.199 (PMU) on port 17000. The command channel is set up to connect to 192.168.1.198 (local) on port 8900. The command channel that is established is not between your openPDC and PMU, but rather your openPDC and its own output stream. The openPDC is establishing a connection with itself and receiving its own configuration frame instead of your device's configuration frame. As for the data channel, your device is likely waiting for the EnableRealTimeData command before sending data, but openPDC is also sending that to itself via the command channel.

My best recommendation without knowing more about your PMU is to remove the alternate command channel setting. You may also try using the PMU Connection Tester first to verify that you have configured your connection properly.

Thanks,
Stephen
