output of calculated measurements

Can you provide some clarification of how calculated measurements are designed to be output?  I am using the AverageFrequency calculation provided with the openPDC.  I used openPDC Manager to add three new frequency measurements to use as the outputs.  These new measurements don't have any associated Device.  When I view the measurements from the openPDC Manager screens (Real time monitoring or Input Status and data), I can see their values changing, but the quality shows as orange to indicate "DeletedFromProcessing".

I'm also interested in outputing these calculated measurements via a standard C37.118 output stream.  The Wizard does not see to provide a mechanism for adding them to the stream since there is no assoicated device.  I tried to add them directly using the Manage Measurements, Source Measurement [...] option.  It shows the calculated measurements, but it returns an error "Failed to add measurements to output stream"  "length can not be less that zero" when I try to add them.  What is the correct method for output of calculated measurements?

Also note that if the calculated measurment adapter input measurement list or output measurement list inadvertantly contains an extra semicolon at the end, then the adapter will fail to load with an "invalid measurement key format" error.  Obviously this can be avoided by making sure that there is not an extra semicolon, but it would be nice to have a clearer error message or perhaps even to forgive this little error.
