OpenPDC doesn't receive a data

Apr 13, 2011 at 7:16 PM

Hi there

I'm trying to receive the data from 14 PMUs through a UDP port.Using the PMUConectionTester I received the data from PMUs and I saved the configuration file. After I loaded the configuration file in the OpenPDC and add the PMUs. All PMUs were successfull connected, but occurs a problem receiving data, through the openPDCconsole it is know the follow information:

[PDC_UFSC] Attempting connection...
[PDC_UFSC] Initiating IEEE C37.118-2005 UDP based connection...
[PDC_UFSC] Connection established.
[PDC_UFSC] Statistics reset for all devices associated with this connection.
[PDC_UFSC] Initiating IEEE C37.118-2005 UDP based connection...
[PDC_UFSC] Received configuration frame at 13/04/2011 18:03:41
No data received in 5,0 seconds, restarting connect cycle...

I'm using the follow configurations:

Connection Strings: TransportProtocol=Udp;localport=4713;interface=;maximumconnectionattempts=5;

Alternate Command: protocol=tcp; server=; port=4712; interface=

In the PMUConectionTester program, the data are showed normaly, but the OpenPDC with the same configuration, doesn't work.

Someone have any sugestion?
Thank for all

Sounds like something simple as the connection tester and openPDC use the same code.

You might try changing localport to port:

transportProtocol=UDP; port=4713; interface=; maximumconnectionattempts=5;

I assume PMU Connection Tester and openPDC are on the same box?

Hi Ritchie

The two prograns are the same box.

I changed the localport to port, but still doesn't work.

Hi Paulo Andre,

Sounds like something I have seen before. try/check the following:

1. The firewall on your system is not blocking the port for openPDC,

   i.e. openPDC can access the port.

2. remove the max connection attempts and see what happens.

3. Make sure you disconnect from the PMU connection tester while openPDC is trying to connect.

I remember resolving this issue when using two openPDCs but the actual frame rate registered by the receiving

openPDC installation was significantly reduced, from 50 to 15 fps.

Hope that helps.

Hi Moustafa
I turned off the firewall completely from my PC. Although the firewall was configured to allow the communication of OpenPDC it's was blocking the data. Now all works perfectly.
Thanks a lot. Moustafa
