Output Stream - both TCP and UDP?

Dec 5, 2012 at 2:25 PM

Should I expect to successfully configure an output adapter to send both to TCP and to one or more UDP addresses? Limited testing has failed so far.

No, each output stream has a single data channel which can be TCP or UDP.

However, you can setup a TCP command channel and UDP data channel at the same time. And you can send to multiple UDP destinations as well...

I'm a little confused; does the last message mean an Output Stream can have a TCP Data Channel AND a UDP data channel (with  one or more addresses)?

The following configurations should be possible:

  • TCP command and data channel
  • TCP command channel, UDP data channel
  • UDP command and data channel
  • No command channel, UDP data channel

It is not possible to have both a TCP data channel and a UDP data channel without setting up two separate output streams, however the UDP data channel can have multiple destinations.

Thanks,
