Historian WebService Metadata

Dec 2, 2009 at 8:22 PM

Hello,

I'm with problems getting MetaData list.

The returned MetaData list is often with missing, empty or wrong measurements data.

I've tried using direct browser call: http://localhost:8600/historian/metadata/read/xml and using

TVA's dll calling "ReadAllMetadataAsJson()" method, both with the same results.

Is this a known behavior?

May I help with other tests?

Hi Luiz,

The REST URI you mentioned will return all of the metadata as seen by the in-process historian component which could be different from the metadata you see in your configuration database. This is possible if synchronization between the historian database and openPDC configuration database is not enabled.

What are you using for your configuration database? Is it Access or SQL Server?

I'm using the Access datase. For example, sometimes a measurement id 50 appears with information, and sometimes with everything empty. Sometimes the id 50 appears with a name from another id.

Thus I can see repetead names, with diferent ids or empty. This happens just hitting F5 in the browser, without changing or restarting anything.

I'll check the config synchronization.

If you want I can send the access file.

Hello Pinal,

I've done some more tests, with the same results.

If you want to see for yourself, go to the address

http://150.162.19.217:8600/historian/metadata/read/xml

Each time I press F5 in browser, I receive a different result.

This happens with any medatarecord, not only HID 16.

For example:

<MetadataRecord>
<HistorianID>16</HistorianID>
<DataType>0</DataType>
<Name>PR8_UTFP-VVVB:REAV</Name>

-------------------------------------------------

After pressing F5 some times I get this:

-------------------------------------------------

<MetadataRecord>
<HistorianID>16</HistorianID>
<DataType>0</DataType>
<Name>PR8_UTFP:READF</Name>
<Synonym1>UTFPR-DF</Synonym1>

---------------------------------------------------

After one F5 I get this:

----------------------------------------------------

MetadataRecord>
<HistorianID>16</HistorianID>
<DataType>0</DataType>
<Name/>
<Synonym1/>

----------------------------------------------------

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best Regards,

Luiz Henrique
