Historian/metadata MetadataRecord.ScanRate

Dec 10, 2009 at 8:10 PM

Hello,

What exactly is the MetadataRecord.ScanRate ?

In the source code is written that it is the rate at which the source device scans and sends data for the historian.

Our devices are sending data 60 times per second but all the historians have ScanRate = 0.0333333 (30 times/s maybe?) in the metadata webservice.

Did I get everything wrong?

Thanks in advance,

André Carlucci

Hi André,

The ScanRate in the historian metadata gets populated from the HistorianMetadata view/query that's defined in the openPDC configuration database. This view currently always returns 0.0333333 for ScanRate since FramePerSecond field in the Device table used for computing ScanRate was removed from the current version of the database. The plan is to add this missing field back to the database and update the view to reflect this change, but until then you can update the view to return 0.0166666 for ScanRate.
